BLACK ANGUS CATTLE
We have a small herd which graze the pastures next to the Berg River. Our young cows are in calf again so we look forward to some new arrivals around May.
Black Angus cattle, often referred to as simply Angus cattle, are a popular and widely recognized breed in the beef industry. Originating from Scotland, these cattle are known for their distinctive solid black coloration, though some individuals may have a small amount of white on their underbelly. Angus cattle are prized for their excellent meat quality, which is marbled and tender, making them highly sought after by both producers and consumers.
One of the reasons for their popularity is their adaptability to various climates and environments. They thrive in both cold and hot conditions, which makes them a versatile choice for ranchers across the world. Additionally, Angus cattle have a calm and docile temperament, making them easier to handle and manage, especially in larger herds.
Due to their outstanding meat characteristics, Angus beef is often associated with superior taste and tenderness. This has led to the establishment of premium Angus beef programs and certifications to ensure the highest quality standards. As a result, Angus cattle have become a cornerstone of the beef industry and play a significant role in meeting the demand for high-quality beef products worldwide.
