KOLBROEK PIGS

Percy Pig and his three lady friends arrived on the farm in January 2025. They are loving their free range life; wallowing in any muddy puddle they can find, foraging for old almonds and playing with the chickens. We hope to have some little piglets in a few months time.

Kolbroek pigs are a rare, hardy breed from South Africa, known for their distinctive spotted coats and short, stocky build. They are well adapted to free-range and small-scale farming, with good foraging ability and resistance to harsh conditions. Kolbroeks are friendly, easy to manage, and have excellent meat quality, making them popular for small farms and sustainable agriculture. Their name, meaning “spotted pants” in Afrikaans, reflects their unique coat pattern.
